At Cluster Church, we take safeguarding seriously and are deeply committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. Within the daily operations of Cluster as a church, Tosin Yusuf as the church leader holds responsibility for safeguarding. Also, for accountability and proper safer outcomes we have a dedicated member trustee overseeing our safeguarding will be able to respond to any concerns.

At Cluster Church, we are wholeheartedly committed to safeguarding and creating an environment where everyone feels safe, valued, and cared for. This includes:  

  • Fostering a culture of safety and trust across our community.  
  • Carefully recruiting, training, and supporting everyone involved in roles of responsibility, especially those working with children, young people, and vulnerable adults.

 At Cluster Church, we aim to: 

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for all.  
  • Designate a Safeguarding Officer to oversee the implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures, working closely with leadership.  
  • Equip and support all team members who serve children, young people, or adults, ensuring they have the skills and confidence to recognize and respond to concerns.  
  • Maintain adequate insurance coverage for all church activities involving children and adults.  
  • Display safeguarding contact details prominently on our website and in church spaces so that anyone with concerns knows where to turn.  
  • Listen to and take seriously anyone who shares concerns or discloses abuse.  
  • Act swiftly to protect children and adults if a safeguarding issue arises, following national safeguarding guidance and working with safeguarding advisors and statutory agencies when necessary.  
  • Provide compassionate support to those who have experienced abuse, no matter the type or timing of the incident.  
  • Carefully monitor and manage anyone within the church community who may pose a risk, while maintaining confidentiality and prioritizing safety.  
  • Regularly review our health and safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments to ensure they remain effective.  
  • Review and assess the implementation of our Safeguarding Policy and practices annually to ensure continuous improvement.
